Evolution Academy Trust

Collaboration at multi-school choir event

Children from all 12 Evolution Academy Trust schools in Norfolk and Suffolk joined together on 16th December for a day of musical celebration, performing songs with the theme of ‘collaboration’.

In the morning children learnt a Gospel medley as a group to sing together, led by Jenny Trattles from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) - a UK-based global music education charity and leading provider of music exams, offering graded practical and theory assessments for musicians worldwide.

Choirs from each school had been diligently rehearsing ‘collaboration’ songs including ‘Lean on Me’ by Bill Withers, ‘With a little help from my friends’ by The Beatles and Bruno Mars’ track ‘Count on me’. All children performed their songs in an afternoon showcase in front of the other pupils, where they all supported and cheered each other on.

Evolution Academy Trust Director of Education Katie Lawson said: “It has been wonderful to see so many of our talented pupils showcasing their singing skills today. Events like this bring children from across our Trust together to collaborate and learn from each other and experts like Jenny, enhancing their experience outside of the classroom.”
