New Nelson nursery officially opens

A fantastic new nursery for three and four year olds has officially opened at Nelson Infant School in Norwich.
Supporters from across the local community gathered at the Northumberland Street school for an event to celebrate the provision being open.
The school received a school-based Nursery Capital Grant from the Department for Education, which along with additional funds from Evolution Academy Trust, enabled an out of use building on the site to be transformed into the new nursery.
Headteacher Anna Catlin said: "We are so excited to see this much-needed project come to life. In opening this new nursery, we are able to offer a nurturing and supportive environment for young people to start their educational journey with us. We are pleased that so many families have already joined, and look forward to more arriving over the coming months."
The event marked a full-circle moment for Anna, whose father Kevin attended Nelson Infant School himself, while Kevin's mother Doris worked there as a dinner lady. Kevin and wife Denise were present at the opening to see their daughter’s nursery vision come to life.
The nursery operates from 8.45am to 3.15pm, Monday - Friday in term time, with morning, afternoon or whole day sessions available. In order to prepare children in the best way possible for their school lives, the nursery is led by a qualified teacher who ensures high-quality interactions, child-led play and exploration that lays the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
