World Book Day

World Book Day 2024 was celebrated in schools across our Trust, with a variety of wonderful costumes and some wonderful events taking place.

At Poplars, there was a wide variety of exciting reading-related activities. As well as dressing up, there was a decorated egg competition, a masked reader challenge and “drop everything and read” - at random times throughout the day, the school bell rang and all children (and adults!) stopped what they were doing to spend five minutes reading.

The staff and children at Filby wore some amazing outfits to celebrate their favourite books.

At Costessey there were characters ranging from Harry Potter and Willy Wonka to Super Mario and Cruella de Vil!

Dell held a lovely book swap at the school, where children brought in a book to swap for one new to them.

And finally – look what took over at Elm Tree - a mass of Very Hungry Caterpillars!
